For your viewing is a highly sought-after advertising plate by Fenton "Birmingham Herald Carriers Greetings". Rarity: Very Rare, according to the book "Fenton Art Glass 1907 - 1939 ED & Value Guide Second Edition" by Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer. The plate was given out to subscriber of the newspaper, by paper boys as a token of thanks from the Birmingham, Alabama newspaper at Christmas, 1911.
Condition: The plate has no chips, cracks or repairs. However, it has a faint straw mark across the middle of the building (it is common for Fenton pieces to have straw marks in the making of their Carnival Glass).
Also, there is a tiny bit of excess glass in the upper window, middle pane, bottom row. There is evidence of wear from being stacked. We are pricing the plate with consideration of the condition. Our photos are not photo-shopped or enhanced. Our photos were taken with different natural light conditions. From a non-smoking, no pet home. Look carefully at all photos and feel free to ask questions. Please see our other listings. Please pay within 3 days.
