I ESPECIALLY WANT TO THANK THE REPEAT BUYERS. I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS, LOYALTY AND COMMUNICATION OVER THE YEARS! MY AUCTIONS ARE ALWAYS NO RESERVE AUCTIONS, HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS, THE WAY AUCTIONS SHOULD BE. SO PLEASE ENJOY AND HAVE FUN WITH THEM! This is a VERY SCARCE, UNMARKED Antique Fenton MIKADO Giant Compote made in the early 1900's.

The base glass color is highly sought after BLUE. This piece has NO makers mark!

This is no reproduction piece. A LARGE and HEAVY piece of glass... Very impressive in size alone! This is a strikingly beautiful example of a this highly prized shape, pattern and base glass color. They seldom every come along for sale, in BLUE, and this exhibits remarkable iridescent splendor!

Rich Rainbow Multi-Color covers the interior display surface. The interior features brilliant Gold and Silver...

Very bright and shiny and sure lights up on display. In terms of its sheer rarity, size and gorgeous iridescent qualities... A piece that stands out in a crowd and gets noticed, take a darn good look here. Please see the photographs and enjoy... I have showed as many angles and iridescent features as I can cram into 12 photographs. Dark areas in the photographs are shadows or reflections only. This is a super opportunity to own a very colorful specimen, so, so well done... Look it over and give it serious consideration. A truly elusive, remarkable piece of Antique Fenton Glass. Again there is no makers mark at all. It is antique Fenton at its VERY finest. Every bit as Rich and Beautiful as the photos show. My photos are taken outside in natural indirect sunlight. I never use a flash or props.

I never enhance photos, never have, never will. I aim to show you the best iridescent color the piece offers.

If the piece looks awesome in the photos... What you see is what you will get!

The piece is 7 3/4 inches tall at the tallest point. It is 9 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. A LARGE and HEAVY PIECE OF GLASS! There are NO CRACKS or REPAIRS on this Elusive, Exceptionally Rich and Very Beautiful Antique Fenton Giant Compote. An Exquisite, Colorful piece of this fine antique glass!

THE BASE: The mold seams on the base are nice and smooth. I can't make out any shelf wear on the bottom of the base which is extraordinary for any piece of this fine antique glass. It sits flat and level on a flat surface. I can't make out any wear at all.

Truly exceptional for this shape, pattern and this antique glass in general. The iridescent properties throughout the interior display surface are absolutely gorgeous all the way around featuring Rich Rainbow Multi-Color that does nothing but enhance a very attractive overall presentation. THE EXTERIOR: I can't make out any wear to the exterior at all with is remarkable.

All the way around, the iridescence is very bright and quite rich in nature and features bright Gold and Silver that lights up on display. A mighty impressive piece in terms of its sheer rarity, size and beautiful overall visual qualities. THE EDGE: The Edge Treatment on the piece is very well done. The top edge treatment is very well balanced overall...

The ruffles nice and even. The scallops around the outside edge have all been accounted for with the exception of one. PHOTO 10 shows that on the very edge, there is a very shallow flake, shown very clearly for you next to the end of a ball point pen for easy reference to any ball point pen in your home. No question it is there, what it does to the value is up to you.

But the photographs, in total, show that the piece has been so very well taken care of over the last 100 years... Opportunities to own them, in BLUE base glass, with iridescent characteristics this strong and vibrant, in this kind of overall condition, truly seldom ever come along. A very elusive, superbly beautiful piece of antique Fenton and an awesome example of this century old glass. That is all I can find on this Very Scarce, Absolutely Gorgeous Antique Fenton Giant Compote. An extremely pleasing example of this very elegant, highly prized pattern, large shape and very difficult to obtain base glass color.

If you have been searching for a stand out specimen, one that makes a statement on display and attracts LOADS of attention... Here is a visually stunning specimen with rich iridescent features FAR above average for these. The overall presentation is High Quality and eye catching on display. Certainly its one that will add awesome visual appeal and interest to your display.

It is every bit as Rich and Colorful as the photographs show! I fully intend it to be that way, no glitz and glamour. I find it completely fascinating. There is nothing else like it in the world of antiques... The historical pieces I sell are part of our history, as a country, and made right here in the good ole' USA unless I state otherwise.

They represent a time when America made things, great things... Before it was popular to sell this country out! The photographs say it all!

Nothing else needs to be done or said. I do my best to point out damage or wear issues with the pieces I offer. True antique glass always has some manufacturing marks. It was made a century ago and mass produced... Well before quality was an idea. Well before Cell Phones, Computers or any technology at all. It is hard for people to comprehend that today, but it is fact. The working conditions were unbearable by today's standards, yet the hard working American's of this era produced some of the most amazing items ever made. Manufacturing marks within the glass are part of the charm of this period in time. If there is a manufacturing mark that is out of the ordinary... Such as excessive, contained, bubbles throughout the glass or a manufacturing heat check... Normal manufacturing marks such as straw marks, stretch marks, enclosed bubbles, light tool marks, though, will not be mentioned and should certainly be anticipated. Look over the many photos provided. If typical manufacturing marks bother you... Please ask questions up front! I will readily answer questions as diligently as I can.

It will further your appreciation and hone your interest. I highly recommend David Doty's Carnival Glass Website.

I also find his Field Guides extremely helpful if you can find them, there are several. They are the best guide to learning patterns, especially the 2000 updated version.

I also recommend Edwards and Carwile's Carnival Glass Encyclopedia... There are several editions published. They cover the widest array of patterns of any guide I have seen and the text is excellent. There are other very worthy materials out there that will help you learn and grow, as well as numerous clubs and organizations. I use premium ONE INCH bubble wrap (not the cheap 1/4 inch) and foam peanuts to package the pieces exclusively. I take great pride in packaging these wonderful pieces of history VERY well... Like they deserve to be packaged and I like them packaged for me.

I never know how an item will sell. My goal, however, is to NEVER have a damaged piece of glass...

My feedback comments prove my diligence in that regard. Running No Reserve Auctions do not always allow me to do that... For repeat buyers I certainly will! I don't advertise it... I just do it when I send the invoice. It is my way of saying THANK YOU!

I run 7 to 10 day auctions with plenty of photos, text and lots of time for questions if needed.
