This Spectacular Fenton One of a Kind Basket is signed Levay 1982. It is magnificent in every way. This exquisite basket was handcrafted in the USA and has the Fenton in the oval introduced in 1970 on carnival glass pieces.

Fenton ceased production in 2007. The body of this basket has the time-honored look of Carnival Glass but when you hold it up to light the real splendor shines through as shown in a photograph provided and the attractive clear glass powder blue almost azure handle has the look of bamboo, this basket sits on a clear glass powder blue round pedestal. The body of the basket measures approximately 11length and 8wide and 3½high and with the handle it stands 9½tall and the round powder blue base has a diameter of 3¾. Please look at the photos as these are part of the description. Inatglio Levay (actually Gary Levi) operated the Levay Intaglio Art Glass Studio and under his direction and guidance the Studio melted its first pot of glass at 209 E Vandalia St. In Edwarsdville, IL on October 11, 1984. The Studio was moved to Alton, IL in 1993 where it continued to produce high quality art glass until it was closed at the end of 1998, due to the death of Gary. The Studio will not reopen. Many people are familiar with glass made by Fenton, Westmoreland, Imperial, L. Not many are aware though that in 1984 Levay (actually Gary Levi) opened his own production facility that grew to employ over 100 people including glass designer/artist Susan Anton Carr who designed paperweights that were marketed under the name Intaglio Anton. Levay marketed other things under the name Intaglio Levay. Gary Levi mysteriously and unceremoniously walked up and locked the doors to the place, an old schoolhouse that he had expanded, sometime around 1995.
