RARE Fenton Peter Rabbit Marigold 9 Bowl. The bowl is made in marigold carnival glass. As with all carnival glass, the lighting does make a difference in the way the colors display. This bowl does have a beautiful display of purple, blue, and green iridescence. The pictures really don't do it justice. The pattern on the bowl is the Peter Rabbit that was produced circa 1912. It features the same overall design as the Little Fishes and Coral pattern, but you will find rabbits in between the trees along the outer edge. This pattern was made for export to England to celebrate the book written by "Beatrix Potter" that was published in 1902.
The exterior of the bowl features the Bearded Berry pattern. It is 2 3/8" tall, and measures 9" diameter across the ruffled top.
This bowl does have the strike mark in the center, which is normal for this pattern and did appear on many of the pieces. On the outside edge of two of the points are a rough spot. These are not easily felt, and the only way I could see them was to look through a magnifying glass. They do not distract from the piece and are only mentioned for accuracy. This bowl is in EXCELLENT condition with no chips, cracks, or breaks. Please contact me with any questions you may have. This does not include weekends and holidays. However, if you contact me I will be happy to extend that time.
